Record #183564:

Temporal and spatial variation in metric asymmetry in skulls of polar bears (Ursus maritimus) from East Greenland and Svalbard / Thea Ø. Bechshøft, and 6 others.

Title: Temporal and spatial variation in metric asymmetry in skulls of polar bears (Ursus maritimus) from East Greenland and Svalbard / Thea Ø. Bechshøft, and 6 others.
Author(s): Bechshøft, Thea Ø.
Date: 2008.
In: Annales Zoologici Fennici. (2008.), Vol. 45(1) (2008)
Abstract: Investigates fluctuating asymmetry (FA) as measure of environmental stress in polar bear (Ursus maritimus) skulls from East Greenland (collected 1892-2004) and Svalbard (collected 1950-2004). Finds Svalbard bears to have higher level of FA than those of East Greenland. Notes that there is no substantial evidence of linkage between FA and organohalogens.
