Abstract: Summarises knowledge about substance use among young indigenous Saami using data from longitudinal questionnaire study conducted in 1994-95 and 1997-98. Finds that young Saami do not show higher rates than non-Saami peers for any of investigated substances; also that young Saami report lower drinking rates at both assessments when compared with regional and national non-indigenous peers.
