| Abstract: | Presents measurements of concentrations of organic carbon and adenosine 5-triphosphate in raised beach deposit found under terrestrial vegetation in Ny-Ålesund. Finds that, at all depths, organic carbon comprises most of total carbon; also that difference in concentration between total and organic carbon is larger ion deep layers than in shallow layers, suggesting deep layers contain large amounts of carbonate. |
