Abstract: | Reports estimation of primary production of lichen in deglaciated area in Ny-Ålesund, by examining effects of abiotic factors on net photosynthesis and dark respiration rates of fruticose lichen Cetrariella delisei. Observes positive photosynthetic activites on rainy days or soon after rainfall when thallus water content is high, but photosynthetic activities drop below detectable limit on clear days becauise of low water content. Constructs model for estimating primary production of lichen based on relationship between abiotic factors and CO₂ exchange rate. |
