Record #183200:

Meso- and submesoscale structure of a convecting field / Elizabeth L. Steffen, Eric A. D'Asaro.

Title: Meso- and submesoscale structure of a convecting field / Elizabeth L. Steffen, Eric A. D'Asaro.
Author(s): Steffen, Elizabeth L.
D'Asaro, Eric A.
Date: 2004.
In: Journal of Physical Oceanography. (2004.), Vol. 34(1) (2004)
Abstract: Examines meso- and submesoscale structure duting active convection in context of intensive data collection in region of Labrador Sea north-west of former Ocean Weather Station Bravo. Finds anticyclonic eddy of 40-km diameter, also smaller-scale variability of 0.04 psu and 0.3\degC. Data from fully Lagrangian floats show smaller-scale field to be organised into eddies of 1-12-km radius.
