Abstract: Presents investigation of stable carbon isotope composition of modern and subfossil grasses and sedges (graminoids) from Eastern Beringia, with aim of enhancing palaeoenvironmental reconstruction for Late Quaternary. Considers usefulness of information about plant growing conditions (particularly occurrence of moisture stress) for understanding Arctic plant responses to climate change.
