Abstract: | Presents findings from broader research into Finno-Ugric minorities living in Scandinavian area, with particular reference to Kvens, small ethnic minority inhabiting Troms and Finnmark. Notes that Kven language was not recognised as separate by Norwegians and was regarded as dialect of Finnish by inhabitants of Finland. In 2005, Norwegian government finally recognised it as separate language. |
