Record #182883:

The photosynthetic response of Alaskan tundra plants to increased season length and soil warming / Gregory Starr, Steven F. Oberbauer, Lorraine E. Ahlquist.

Title: The photosynthetic response of Alaskan tundra plants to increased season length and soil warming / Gregory Starr, Steven F. Oberbauer, Lorraine E. Ahlquist.
Author(s): Starr, Gregory.
Oberbauer, Steven F.
Ahlquist, Lorraine E.
Date: 2008.
In: Arctic, Antarctic, and Alpine Research. (2008.), Vol. 40(1) (2008)
Abstract: Examines effects of lengthened growing season and soil warming on photosynthetic capacity of seven tundra plants from four growth forms comprising >90% of vascular cover of wet tussock tundra. Finds maximum photosynthetic capacity to be relatively unchanged by manipulation that significantly alters growing season length, active layer depth and soil temperatures; also tundra species to operate within relatively narrow range for maximum synthetic capacity, with maximum seldom being reached under ambient conditions.
