| Abstract: | Evaluates structural and functional parameters of bacterioplankton and their dynamics in different oceanographic domains of eastern Bering Sea in late spring and summer. Observes minimum bacterial abundance and production during termination of phytoplankton spring bloom, and maximum at end of July. Attributes intense growth of bacterioplankton in late July to significant concentrations of substrate rather than temperature. Calculates ratio of bacterial carbon to phytoplankton throughout study period. |
