Abstract: Describes six desmid taxa from freshwater habitats in ice-free areas of Admiralty Bay, collected between December 2001 and March 2002. Actinotaenium cucurbitinum and Cosmarium pseudopiramidatum were recorded in this area for first time. Lists all associated algae and cyanobacteria, comprising 43 taxa, of which 28 Bacillariophyceae, 1 Chlorophyceae, 1 Ulvophyceae, 7 Conjugatophyceae, and 6 Cyanophyta. Highest number of taxa was noted in streams at Zamek (26) and Point Thomas (20), while lowest was noted in moraine pool at Red Hill (7)
