Abstract: | Evaluates immunoassay test strips and liquid chromatography atmospheric-pressure ionization tandem mass spectrometry for measurement of saliva cotinine levels in pregnant Alaska Native women. Finds immunoassay strips can be used for rapid distinction between users and non-users of tobacco, but are not adequately sensitive to detect and quantify lower concentrations of cotinine among non-smokers with second-hand exposure. |
