Abstract: Investigates relative importance of major hydrological processes on thaw season 2003 lake-water balances in Slave River Delta, using water isotope tracers and total suspended sediment analyses. Finds that flooding from slave River and Great slave Lake dominates early spring lake-water balances in outer and most mid-delta lakes, while input of snowmelt is strongest in all apex and some mid-delta lakes. Classifies lakes in three groups: flood-dominated, evaporation-dominated, and exchange-dominated.
