| Abstract: | Discusses results of analysis of satellite images of glacier taken on 8 August 2003 and compares with previous data obtained in 1972-91. Report in early 2005 by tourist expedition from Moscow Aviation Institute posted on web showed considerable movement in lower part of glacier and photographs from another tourist group in August 2005 showed rapid advance of glacier front. Highlights need for more accurate aerial and field observations in Pamirs. |
