Record #181114:

The effect of a new drag-law parameterization on ice shelf water plume dynamics / Alexander V. Wilchinsky, Daniel L. Feltham, Paul R. Holland.

Title: The effect of a new drag-law parameterization on ice shelf water plume dynamics / Alexander V. Wilchinsky, Daniel L. Feltham, Paul R. Holland.
Author(s): Wilchinsky, Alexander V.
Feltham, Daniel L.
Holland, Paul R.
Date: 2007.
In: Journal of Physical Oceanography. (2007.), Vol. 37(7) (2007)
Abstract: Proposes drag law accounting for Ekman rotation adjacent to flat, horizontal boundary for use in plume model written in terms of depth-mean velocity. Drag law contains variable turning angle between mean velocity and drag imposed by turbulent boundary layer. Studies effect of variable turning angle in drag law for plume of ice shelf water ascending and turning beneath Antarctic ice shelf with draft decreasing away from grounding line.
