Abstract: Defines interconnection between period of living in extreme conditions of Russian Far North and development of main non-infectious risk factors (salt-sensitivity deviation, low physical activity, dyslipidaemia, hyperglycaemia, smoking, elevated body mass and elevated blood pressure). Examines 1,492 schoolchildren living in Nadym, Yamalo-Nenetskiy Avtonomnyy Okrug, and finds low physical activity to be most prevalent predictor of non-infectious risk among all age-gender groups.
