Abstract: | Part of project was to examine mutual relationship of East Greenland Old Palaeozoic and fucoid beds, serpulite grit and Durness limestones of North Scottish Highlands described in literature. Meanwhile, Du Toit had drawn through North Scotland and East Greenland Taconic fold zone and Kummerow had come to similar result on palaeontological grounds, confirming Kummerow's earlier position of 1929. Fossils were seen to connect Tana and Varanger in Norway and Torridons. North-west Highlands were seen to be European fragment with American, better East Greenlandic, character. |
