Abstract: Describes evaluation of quality and reproducibility of digital images of test X-rays transmitted from RRS Shackleton in Southern Ocean, and from Antarctica. 87.8% of films were correctly diagnosed, on 7.3% abnormalities were missed, and on 4.9% abnormalities were detected on normal films.
