In: Second Italian workshop on "Human adaptation in Antarctica and extreme environments" : Leghorn, Naval Academy, September 24-25, 2001. Proceedings. (2001.),
Abstract: Evaluates possible damage to microcirculation and macrocirculation due to exposure to low temperatures, based on examination of members of Italian Antarctic expeditions between 1990-2001. Includes data on hands linked with angiology examination to highlight possible pathology in upper limbs; adaptation mechanisms of vascular system to Antarctic climate conditions; and vascular and blood integrated function tests to assess reactivity of intracranial macrocirulation in subjects exposed to extreme conditions, including high altitude.
