Record #180891:
On the double-diffusive and cabbeling environment of the Arctic Front, West Spitsbergen / Finlo R. Cottier, Emily J. Venables.
Title: | On the double-diffusive and cabbeling environment of the Arctic Front, West Spitsbergen / Finlo R. Cottier, Emily J. Venables. |
Author(s): | Cottier, Finlo R. Venables, Emily J. |
Date: | 2007. |
In: | Polar Research. (2007.), Vol. 26(2) (2007) |
Abstract: | Describes thermohaline characteristics of Arctic Front (west of Spitsbergen) in terms of double-diffusive environment and potential for densification through cabbeling. Front separates warm, saline Atlantic water in West Spitsbergen Current from cooler, fresher water on West Spitsbergen Shelf. Investigates processes at front that can contribute to or enhance mixing and water mass modification in relation to heat transport to Arctic. |
