Record #180881:

Geographic and seasonal variations in maturation and growth of female Pacific cod (Gadus macrocephalus) in the Gulf of Alaska and Bering Sea / James W. Stark.

Title: Geographic and seasonal variations in maturation and growth of female Pacific cod (Gadus macrocephalus) in the Gulf of Alaska and Bering Sea / James W. Stark.
Author(s): Stark, James W.
Date: 2007.
In: Fishery Bulletin. (2007.), Vol. 105(3) (2007)
Abstract: Investigates temporal stability of length- and age-at-maturity estimates for female Pacific cod (Gadus macrocephalus) in Gulf of Alaska and eastern Bering Sea. Finds females reach 50% maturity at 4.4 years in Gulf of Alaska and 4.9 years in eastern Bering Sea. Total body length at 50% maturity is significantly smaller in Gulf of Alaska than in eastern Bering Sea. Considers impact of results of study on spawning biomass estimates.
