Title: Variations in weather on the east and west coasts of south Spitsbergen, Svalbard / Wojciech Maciejowski, Adam Michniewski.
Author(s): Maciejowski, Wojciech.
Michniewski, Adam.
Date: 2007.
In: Polish Polar Research. (2007.), Vol. 28(2) (2007)
Abstract: Describes weather conditions on north-east coast of Sørkappland during August 2005, and considers them in context of general synoptic situation over North Atlantic. Comparison of local climate features for east and west coast of southern Spitsbergen shows that general atmospheric circulation and direct solar radiation in summer are decisive factors affecting weather on east coast.
