| Abstract: | Studies of benthic foraminifera in uppermost Pleistocene-Holocene sediments from southern Bering Sea reveal substantial quantitative and compositional variations with time that reflect changes in hydrological characteristics of basin over last 22,000 years. Periods marked by highest productivity of both foraminifera and diatoms correspond to two deglaciation phases by brief Younger Dryas cooling. |
