Title, transliterated: | O nekotorykh mekhanizmakh t︠s︡iklicheskikh izmeneniĭ klimata v Arktike i Antarktike / Z.M. Gudkovich, E.G. Kovalev. |
Translated title: | On the mechanisms of cyclic climate changes in the Arctic and Antarctic. |

Abstract: | Analysis of cross-correlation and spectral functions of long-term variability of ice conditions in Greenland Sea, water salinity and cyclonic activity index in region of Norwegian energy active zone reveals self-oscillating mechanism responsible for onset of cyclic variability in ocean-ice-atmosphere system with time-scale of about 20-25 years. Similar phenomena are observed in Antarctic where they are associated with action of Antarctic circumpolar wave of atmospheric pressure anomalies moving from west to east, location of ice edge and other factors. Discusses differences between these phenomena in Arctic and Antarctic and their possible explanations. |
