| Abstract: | Investigates feeding habits of ringed (Phoca hispida), barbed (Erignathus barbatus), spotted (Phoca largha), and ribbon (Phoca fasciata) seals and walrus (Odobenus rosmarus), using stomach contents and stable carbon and nitrogen isotopes. Finds zooplankton and fish to be significant prey for ringed seals, crustaceans and molluscs for bearded seals, fish for spotted seals, and benthic species for walrus. Little evidence from gastric contents is available for ribbon seals. |
