Regional geoid improvement based on surface gravity data / W. Korth, R. Dietrich, G. Reitmayr, V. Damm.

Title: Regional geoid improvement based on surface gravity data / W. Korth, R. Dietrich, G. Reitmayr, V. Damm.
Author(s): Korth, W.
Dietrich, R.
Reitmayr, G.
Damm, V.
Date: 1998.
Publisher: Berlin: Springer
In: Geodesy on the move; gravity, geoid, geodynamics and Antarctica : IAG Scientific Assembly, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, September 3-9, 1997. (1998.),
Abstract: Computes geoid model for region around Schirmacher Oasis, Antarctica, applying point mass model for disturbing potential T. Absolute level of geoid was verified through comparison with ellipsoidal height of mean sea level determined by tide gauge measurements and GPS. Undulations are rather strong, varying between 13 m and 24 m mainly in North-South direction. East-west striking conspicuous minimum is located around 71°S. Values increase rapidly towards polar plateau in south, with almost circular maximum between 12°E and 14°E.
Notes:
