Record #180300:

Moult migration of emperor geese Chen caniga between Alaska and Russia / Jerry W. Hupp, and 6 others.

Title: Moult migration of emperor geese Chen caniga between Alaska and Russia / Jerry W. Hupp, and 6 others.
Author(s): Hupp, Jerry W.
Date: 2007.
In: Journal of Avian Biology. (2007.), Vol. 38(4) (2007)
Abstract: Investigates reproductive success and post-breeding movements of 32 female emperor geese (Chen caniga), marked with satellite radio transmitters in nesting area on Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta (YKD) between 2000-04. Results indicate that moult migration of emperor geese between Alaska and Russia is likely to be substantially greater than previously believed; also that Russian moulting habitats are important to North American population of emperor geese and events affecting survival of geese in Russia could have impact on YKD population trends.
