Petrographic and isotopic composition of Late Quaternary Ross embayment till / K. Licht, J. Lederer, G.L. Farmer, R.J. Swope, J.T. Andrews.

Title: Petrographic and isotopic composition of Late Quaternary Ross embayment till / K. Licht, J. Lederer, G.L. Farmer, R.J. Swope, J.T. Andrews.
Author(s): Licht, K.
Lederer, J.

Andrews, J. T.
Date: 2006.
In: Terra Antartica. Reports. (2006.), Vol. 12 (2006)
Abstract: Comparison of coarse sand composition, Nd and Sr isotopic composition of East and West Antarctic source area tills with till samples from across Ross Sea embayment shows that tills from eastern Ross Sea are similar to those from West Antarctica, and those from western Ross Sea are similar to those from East Antarctica. Mixed source sand composition and Nd isotopic values for central Ross Sea confirm that central Ross Sea trough marked confluence of East and West Antarctic ice sheets during last glacial maximum.
