Abstract: Reviews modelling techniques used for glacierized catchments, with special reference to Peyto Glacier, and discusses whether physics-based, distributed hydrological models for unglacierized catchments could be extended to glacierized catchments through addition of glacial drainage component. Discusses physics-based distributed catchment, snow and ice melt, and glacier drainage models as component parts of glacier runoff models. Concludes physics-based distributed models in glacierized catchments are theoretically possible, given extensive field data with which to test them, and advocates intensive field campaign on, e.g., Peyto Glacier.
