Describes reconstruction of pre-18th century glacial history and identification of three separate events, ca. 2800 yr BP, 1600 yr BP and between 1246 and 1375 AD. Maximum Holocene extent occured between 1836 and 1846. Discusses implications of Peyto record for future glacier chronology studies in context of regional Holocene palaeoenvironmental history.
