Record #180005:

An application of GIS techniques to assess the risk of disturbance of archaeological sites by mass movement and marine flooding in Auyuittuq National Park Reserve, Nunavut / Brenda L. Solsten, Alec E. Aitken.

Title: An application of GIS techniques to assess the risk of disturbance of archaeological sites by mass movement and marine flooding in Auyuittuq National Park Reserve, Nunavut / Brenda L. Solsten, Alec E. Aitken.
Author(s): Solsten, Brenda L.
Aitken, Alec E.
Date: 2006.
In: Géographie Physique et Quaternaire. (2006.), Vol. 60(1) (2006)
Abstract: Examines application of geographical information systems (GIS) technology to assess risk of disturbance of 44 coastal archaeological sites. Combines data on surficial materials and slope angles in overlay analysis to assess terrain sensitivity to mass movement. Output from analysis is coarse regional assessment of mass movement potential relating to strength of materials on slopes.
