Abstract: Recent dust investigation of ice cores from Dome C and Vostok stations, Antarctica, allowed depiction of secular and multi-secular modes of dust size and atmospheric circulation variability during most of Holocene. Total dust input in Antarctic ice is tightly related to environmental conditions at source regions such as South America. Both cores showed short-term variability superposed on main Holocene decreasing trend, with periodicity suggestive of solar forcing at around 200 years, and asynchronous dust size changes.
