Record #179973:

Implications of substrate complexity and kelp variability for south-central Alaskan nearshore fish communities / Judy Hamilton, Brenda Konar.

Title: Implications of substrate complexity and kelp variability for south-central Alaskan nearshore fish communities / Judy Hamilton, Brenda Konar.
Author(s): Hamilton, Judy.
Konar, Brenda.
Date: 2007.
In: Fishery Bulletin. (2007.), Vol. 105(2) (2007)
Abstract: Investigates fish communities in south-central Alaskan kelp beds characterised by range of substrate complexity and varying densities of both perennial understorey kelps and annual canopy kelps. Finds many observed fish species, as well as understorey and canopy kelps, to be positively associated with structurally complex substratum. Discusses significance of habitat for several commercially and recreationally important fishes.
