Title: AMLR 2005/2006 field season report: objectives, accomplishments and tentative conclusions / Jessica D. Lipsky, ed.
Author(s): Lipsky, Jessica D.,
Date: 2006.
In: United States. AMLR (Antarctic Marine Living Resources) Program. Field Season Report. (2006.), NOAA-TM-NMFS-SWFSC-397 (2006)
Abstract: Reports initial results of research cruise aboard R/V Yuzhmorgeologiya in waters around South Shetland Islands, and land-based studies at Cape Shirreff on Livingston Island and Copacabana on King George Island, investigating relationships between krill, their predators, and key environmental variables. Includes physical oceanography; phytoplankton and primary productivity studies; bioacoustical surveys to map spatial distribution of krill; zooplankton sampling; fish travel studies and demersal finfish survey of northern Antarctic Peninsula; benthic invertebrate bycatch composition and characterization of northern Antarctic Peninsula; near shore acoustical survey near Cape Shirreff; seal and sea bird research at Cape Shirreff; and distribution, abundance and behaviour of seabirds and mammals at sea.
