Record #179944:

The impacts of climate change on marine mammals: early signs of significant problems / Mark P. Simmonds, Stephen J. Isaac.

Title: The impacts of climate change on marine mammals: early signs of significant problems / Mark P. Simmonds, Stephen J. Isaac.
Author(s): Simmonds, Mark P.
Isaac, Stephen J.
Date: 2007.
In: Oryx. (2007.), Vol. 41(1) (2007)
Abstract: Reviews recent direct observations of several marine mammal populations that illustrate reactions to climate change and indicate potential vulnerability of certain species and populations, particularly those with limited habitat range, or those for which sea ice provides important part of their habitat, or those which migrate to feeding grounds in polar regions. Highlights need to take projected impacts into account in future conservation and management plans and species assessments, and discusses precautionary methodology.
