| Abstract: | Investigates use of passive microwave (AMSR-E) remote sensing data for real-time estimation of water equivalent of snow cover (SWE). Matches SWE maps (AE DailySno, 2003-05) for Polar Urals based on AMSR-E microwave data with calculations from SSM/I data to allow comparison with ground snow survey data from 2003-05. Shows that stated accuracy (25%) cannot be achieved for all territory of Russia within framework of single universal algorithm. |
