| Abstract: | Examines vertical profiles of snow cover temperature in western Tien Shan. Reports that with morning air temperature minimum, snow temperature increases with depth according to linear law and coefficients related to snow surface temperature. In daytime, thermal stratification can be approximated by parabolic curve. Depth of minimum snow temperature depends on snow surface temperature and total snow depth. Notes water infiltration to snow surface occurred during whole season, even when solid precipitation took place. |
