Пластовые льды Новосибирских островов как реликт древнего оледенения

Title: Пластовые льды Новосибирских островов как реликт древнего оледенения
Title, transliterated: Plastovye lʹdy Novosibirskikh ostrovov kak relikt drevnego oledenenii︠a︡ / M.A. Anisimov, V.Ė. Tumskoĭ, V.V. Ivanova.
Translated title: Massive ice of Novosibirskiye Islands as a relic of ancient glaciation.
Author(s): Anisimov, M. A.

Date: 2006.
Language: Russian.
In: Materialy Gli︠a︡t︠s︡iologicheskikh Issledovaniĭ. (2006.), Vol. 101 (2006)
Abstract: Reports investigations of subsurface ice of unknown genesis at Novaya Sibir [New Siberia] and Faddeyevsky islands. Ice is apparently about 30 m thick and overlain by marine clays with rare fossil shells. Several genetic types of this ice have been distinguished. Authors argue ice is relic of past glaciation, reporting traces of block-folded deformations formed by ice sheet movement. Existence of sandy blocks, outliers of frozen moraine described at Faddeyevsky Island, confirms glacier activity. Glacier is not younger than Kargin glaciation and probably not older than Middle Pleistocene.
