| Abstract: | Examines changes of morphometry and mass-balance of main glaciers of Belukha Massif in Altai Mountains for periods 1850-1952-2003, based on field, aerial photographic, palaeoglaciological and published data and results of radio-echo sounding. Identifies zones of ice formation typical of Altai glaciers and determines internal structure of snow-firn layers in pits and fractures. Reports areal, volume and length decreases of 14.1%, 15%, and 1300-2120 m. Analyses individual glaciers' sensitivities to observed climate changes. |
