Связь изменчивости баланса массы ледников Европейского региона с глобальными климатическими процессами

Title: Связь изменчивости баланса массы ледников Европейского региона с глобальными климатическими процессами
Title, transliterated: Svi︠a︡zʹ izmenchivosti balansa massy lednikov Evropeĭskogo regiona s globalʹnymi klimaticheskimi prot︠s︡essami / Ė.N. Voskresenskai︠a︡, M.D. Ananicheva.
Translated title: Relation of glacier mass balance variability in European region with global climatic processes.

Abstract: Assesses relationship between annual mass balance (Bₙ) of selected glaciers of European Alps and Scandinavia and North Atlantic Oscillation and Southern Oscillation (NAO and SO) indexes. Obtains significant relation between Bₙ and NAO index on inter-annual and decadal scale. Correlations for Alps and Scandinavia are of opposite signs; Bₙ values have been decreasing over last 25 years in Alps and increasing in Scandinavia. NAO contribution to overall variability of European glaciers exceeds 80% on these scales. Negative correlation between Bₙ and SO index is maximal in springtime when anomaly processes intensify in Pacific. Finds intensive glacier melting usually coincides with positive phases of Pacific decadal oscillation (PDO), i.e., 1925-46 and 1977-2002.
