Abstract: | Examines evolution and development of Gwich'in Athapascan community of Vashraii K'oo/Arctic Village, since initial creation in 1908. Compares data collected during household survey in 2006 with 1999 survey data to measure and assess: village residents' economic standing and subsistence activities; satisfaction with village planning and governance; and residents' overall attitudes towards degree to which village functions as "ethnic space". |
