| Abstract: | Reports Norwegian Polar Institute's long-term sea-ice monitoring project. Investigations include measurement of physical properties and thickness of sea ice at five sea-ice stations, logging of salinity and temperature profiles at 51 oceanographic stations and optical measurements and snow sampling at five land stations. Finds overall tendency for fjords to have less sea ice than usual; also for ice to be thinner and disappear earlier than normal. |
