Abstract: Republication (in English) of 1969 monograph describing burials and grave goods of prehistoric cemetery situated in far north-eastern corner of Chukotka Peninsula (at extreme eastern edge of Eurasian landmass, and close to Alaska). Notes that archaeological materials from Uelen cemetery enhance knowledge of life style of ancient Eskimos living at beginning of Christian era during periods characterised by Old Bering Sea and Okvik cultures, and later by Birnirk and Punuk.
