Record #179844:

The Bering-Aleutian Salmon International Surveys (BASIS) / John Helle, and 8 others.

Title: The Bering-Aleutian Salmon International Surveys (BASIS) / John Helle, and 8 others.
Author(s): Helle, John.
Date: 2007.
In: Alaska Fisheries Science Center. Quarterly Report. (2007.), Jan-Mar (2007)
Abstract: Reports fisheries oceanographic survey of Bering Sea made possible by international treaty that led to organisation of North Pacific Anadromous Fish Commission (NPAFC). Notes that area covered by NPAFC forms world's largest conservation area for seven species of Pacific salmon (Oncorhynchus spp.). Large body of scientific evidence on growth and survival of salmon populations enables development and testing of hypotheses about effect of environmental change on living marine resources.
