Abstract: | Reports excavation and survey of ancient Scandinavian sites on Iceland, Greenland, and Faroe Islands. Investigations aim to determine ecological impacts of human settlement to provide better understanding of influence of past social and ecological factors on shape of current landscape, and use multidisciplinary approach combining zooarchaeology, archaeobotany, geoarcheaology, extensive modelling, and close cooperation with local communities to eludicate reasons behind land use choices and consequences. |
