Record #179797:
Out of sight, out of mind: thermal acclimation of root respiration in Arctic Ranunculus / Elisabeth J. Cooper.
Title: | Out of sight, out of mind: thermal acclimation of root respiration in Arctic Ranunculus / Elisabeth J. Cooper. |
Author(s): | Cooper, Elisabeth J. |
Date: | 2004. |
In: | Arctic, Antarctic, and Alpine Research. (2004.), Vol. 36(3) (2004) |
Abstract: | Investigates respiration rates, thermal sensitivity, and thermal acclimation potential of root respiration in three species of Rananculus from Arctic. Compares plants grown on mountain with specimens grown in glasshouse for six weeks at contrasting soil temperatures. Also compares northern and southern ecotypes of two Ranunculus species. Finds that extent and type of acclimation of root respiration varies with no clear latitudinal pattern emerging. |
