Abstract: | Reconstructs palaeotemperatures during Holocene using variations data on diatom distribution in lake sediment core of lake Lama. Finds strong association between changes in diatom assemblages and climatic changes during this period. Infers July air temperatures using transfer function based on weighted averaging partial least squares regression, derived from calibration dataset from northwestern Finnish Lapland. Prediction accuracy was 0.89°C. Evaluates reconstruction by comparing with other palaeoclimatic reconstructions. |
