| Abstract: | Examines seasonal and inter-annual variations in export of Labrador Sea water and in heat and freshwater transport through central Labrador Sea for two periods: 1964-74 (using Ocean Weather Station Bravo data), and 1996-2000 (using data collected from profiling floats). Finds that inter-annual variations in export of Labrador Sea water can be explained by taking into account changes in central Labrador Sea-boundary current density gradient, which governs lateral exchange. |
