| Abstract: | Describes spatial variability of snow accumulation on three selected glaciers in Spitsbergen in winter seasons of 1998/89, 1998/99 and 2001/02. Finds that distribution of snow cover is determined by interrelationships between direction of glacier axes and dominant easterly winds; also that snow distribution is regular on glaciers located E-W, but is more complicated on glaciers located meridionally. |
