| Abstract: | Discusses results of studies in offshore waters of Ostrov Vaygach in Sept-Oct 1997 which focused on environmental assessment of area in conditions of intensive development, in particular exploitation of oil and gas resources. Analyses vertical distribution of suspended matter in bays in region of Karskiye Vorota and Yugorskiy Shar, Corg content and hydrolitic enzyme processes of destruction of biopolymers in sea water, and characteristics of surface bottom sediments. Finds that content and composition of suspended matter in Vaygach coastal waters is determined by complex interaction of geological, hydrodynamic and biological processes. |
