Abstract: | Account of voyage of submarine K-524 (Victor class 3) in 1986 which remained absolutely secret until recently. Its task was to sail to North Atlantic under ice round Greenland without being observed by enemy radar. Gives details of operation "Atrina" which followed in March 1987 under command of Vladimir Chervashin, admiral of Northern Fleet, which continued attempts to seek out undetectable under ice route to North Atlantic. |
